With a view to supporting and enhancing ASSET's academic activities, Foundation Urrutia Elejalde (FUE), headed by ASSET's first chairman Juan Urritia, has established the FUE Research Diversity Prize in 2009.

The prize is directed to the enhancement of diversity in quality research by economists working on a variety of fields, and it is given to a researcher who currently works or has worked in the past in an institution affiliated with ASSET. The emphasis is on the variety as well as the quality of candidates' work in economics and other flelds. The recipient of the prize is expected to help organize a special session in an area of his or her choice in an ASSET annual meeting.
